They all have trauma.

Fyrion Twins
Zelaia and Zairissa were born to a brilliantly clever Artificer/Wizard, Zilla Styx, and Paladin, Xarmir Fyrion, living in the upper city of Baldur’s Gate alongside some of the most affluent people. The twins were born with draconic scales on their faces, a telltale sign of sorcery. This was a huge deal to their parents, especially their father, as the Fyrion family's magic had been thought to have been struck from their bloodline forever many generations ago. Seeing his daughters with draconic scales indicated to Xarmir that the family’s curse had been broken, and his daughters were the beginning of a new generation of magic users. It's rare for infants to present magic as early as a few weeks into their life, but Zelaia beat the odds when she created a light snow shower while in her mother's arms. There were occasions she managed to freeze water when put in contact, or when she sneezed, snowflakes followed suit. Zairissa didn’t seem to showcase any magic, but Xarmir and Zilla assumed her magic would come when she was older, like most sorcerers. However, while Zelaia’s powers grew exponentially with time, Zairissa never seemed to show any magical ability. By the time the girls were 6 years old, Zilla and Xarmir came to the conclusion Zairissa’s scales were the only thing she inherited from their draconic ancestry.

Fyrion Family
Generations ago, a white wyrm named Sanity infiltrated one of Bahamut’s oldest temples in Tun Marshes. Legend claims he descended from the elder wyrm Rhule. An outcast among his kin, he sought to prove his worth to his family and their deity, Tiamat. At the temple, he was confronted by Love, an elven paladin raised by silver dragons. Devoted to Bahamut, she was gifted with the ability to see through a dragon’s disguise, and could tell Sanity’s human appearance was just that, a disguise. He was intrigued by her courage and requested a tour, intending betrayal—but instead, he fell for her.Love eventually reciprocated, and they began a secret romance. Sanity maintained his disguise, fearing for Love’s safety if his identity was revealed. When she became pregnant, she told her adoptive family, who accepted him under the condition that he renounce Tiamat and sever ties with his clan. He agreed, but upon renouncing his faith out loud, he made the dragon Goddess aware of his betrayal. After their daughter Yolara was born with draconic magic, Tiamat took revenge. She bound Sanity to his human form forever and corrupted him with infernal traits, and altered Yolara’s appearance to match. Then, she erased their draconic magic and cursed their bloodline.Or so she thought…

During the Bhaalspawn crises, a drow named Sendai, one of "The Five", had an idea to become impregnated in secret. She wanted to pass on Bhaal's divine essence in case she was slaughtered before being able to fill Bhaal's Throne of Blood. A fellow drow named Amalica Baenre who’d been faithful to Sendai’s family for centuries was entrusted to carry her child and keep them safe in the Underdark until Bhaal called for them. They received assistance from Amelyssan the Blackhearted to perform a transfer pregnancy spell.During the Silence of Lolth, sisters Danifae and Drada Yauntyrr joined a group led by Quenthel Baenre, the sister of Amalica, in order to get answers regarding their deity’s silence. While Danifae and Quenthel set off for one of them to become Lolth's chosen, Drada was tasked to look over Amalica during her pregnancy. The pair soon fell in love, and Amalica converted from her belief in Bhaal to that of Lolth. Shortly after Danifae joined Lolth as her chosen, Drada prays asking for Lolth's divine blessing upon the unborn child.Near the end of 1370, Faeryl was born.Even as a baby, Faeryl was taken to every religious ritual organised by her mothers, and would often be at the centre of the ceremony. During one of their full moon worship ceremonies, a male drow follower of Eilistraee who'd been kidnapped for a sacrifice managed to escape his prison, and as revenge stole Faeryl from under everyone’s noses. He fled as far as he could through the Underdark, before eventually coming across a Myconoid colony. He tried to kill Faeryl, but the Myconoids were able to intervene and save her, telling the male drow to leave "or else".Ferbol, the Myconoid king of that colony had been the one to take her in as one of their own, and became a parental figure to her, regardless of other colony members expressing concern due to her race. Faeryl was then raised by the Myconoid colony. Ferbol spent hours upon hours teaching Faeryl about their magic, the lines between life and death, and the importance of different mushrooms and spores that surrounded them. After her 10th birthday, she began to show signs of magic and a natural affinity towards the nature of spores.During a trance, she was visited by the deity and archfey of the Myconids, Psilofyr. He told her she was special, "a child already touched by the divine", and that she could do great things for the world, but she would need to deny her blood’s curse in favour of the nurture provided by those who didn't force her into a false fate. Though he didn't explain explicitly what he meant (her Bhaal heritage or Lolth blessing), she took his words seriously nevertheless. For several decades, Faeryl went undetected to anyone beyond the Myconoid colony. It wasn’t until she was in her 40s that a drow army stormed the colony, slaughtering every Myconoid in sight. Faeryl was so young when she had been taken, she had no memory of her mothers, so all she saw was bloodthirsty drow soldiers killing the only family she ever knew. After witnessing the vicious murder of her father-figure, something in Faeryl snapped and against her will she transformed into a 10 foot black-widow spider, something she had never done before and didn’t realise she could do. She killed many of the drow soldiers in this form, but was eventually incapacitated, returning to her normal form and taken captive by her mothers. She was brought back to the Church of Lolth where her mothers lived, and chained up in a prison. She was told of her identity, that she’d been kidnapped as a baby and that her rightful place was with her mothers, worshipping Lolth. Faeryl told them she didn’t care who they were or whatever fate the Gods had in store for her, she would never worship Lolth and if given the chance, she’d kill them in Ferbol’s name. She was kept prisoner for decades, only brought out of her prison when her mothers organised a religious ritual. She’d be gagged and chained up so she couldn’t escape, and would be returned to her cell afterwards. The only grace she was offered was decent meals 3 times a day, but Faeryl would at times refuse to eat, and therefore be force fed.Her mothers believed Faeryl’s widow transformation was the influence of Lolth, some kind of divine blessing gifted upon her in light of Drada and Amalica finding her alive. The truth was more a mixture of Lolth’s blessings from her infancy and her Bhaal blood, creating a wholly unique “slayer form” that came out when Faeryl was at her most desperate and enraged. She had no control over it and couldn’t summon it at will, but her mothers believed she was being defiant and refused to transform. As punishment, she was tortured mercilessly, with the punishments growing more and more heinous as the years went on. This included cutting up her face and leaving her scarred, having the word “Iblith” tattooed to her face in Espruar, breaking her limbs, not allowing her to sleep for days on end, and much, much worse…Faeryl’s luck changed one day when her mothers forgot to lock her shackles properly during a routine transportation to a service. Once out of the prison, without a second thought, Faeryl grabbed the closest weapon she could get her hands on and buried the sword deep into her mother Amalica’s belly, watching as she bled out on the dungeon floor. She quickly fled the scene and successfully escaped the temple, running wildly without direction until she found herself outside the Underdark for the first time in her life.Faeryl walked until she physically couldn’t anymore, and passed out on a road leading into Rivington. She was found by some tradesmen passing by, and they aided her into the town where she found refuge with some local drow who worshipped Eilistraee. They allowed her to stay with them in exchange for her aiding them in their work, and so she made a humble life for herself farming and trading. Overtime, she realised the magic she’d been able to weave was druidic in nature, and her connection to the world around her deepened.

Dacria was conceived when Kethric Thorm, chosen of Myrkul, was told by his God he would be responsible for delivering him a mortal child. Kethric instructed Balthazar to carry out the conception, by using his necromancy talents to resurrect a deceased Myrkulite woman and make her a hospitable host for an embryo. However, the task proved too difficult and no reanimated corpse Balthazar used could successfully carry a child to term. They realised they would have to enlist a living being. With the Shadowcursed lands being too dangerous to house a pregnant person, Balthazar reached out to an acquaintance from Baldur's Gate, Lorroakan, to aid him in finding a suitable surrogate. He responded with news that an associate of his who was an alchemist artificer was interested if there was a considerable payout.Xarmir and Zilla were wealthy members of Baldur's Gate which made them favourable candidates for the task. Originally, Kethric was to father the child himself, but Myrkul could sense something powerful about Xarmir and his ancestry, and instead demanded the couple conceive within a place of worship so Myrkul himself could possess Xarmir and impregnate Zilla with his divine essence. This process was over sought by Balthazar, who aided the ritual so Myrkul could successfully possess Xarmir
